Let Your Class Create Their Own Lesson Plan

It's important that each student in your classroom understands the information that you discuss everyday in your classroom, but it's just as important that the students have fun. If you gave the students one afternoon to create a lesson plan every couple of weeks, they would appreciate every minute of that unit. After the students have all agreed on one specific subject, you can just take a couple of days to set up actual assignments and games to make out of their lesson plan. This idea is something I'd like to try my first year in the classroom. I hope it works!

  1. This is a very good idea!! I think that allowing students to construct their own learning makes them much more interested in learning about the topics. I have learned when students are forced to learn certain topics, they do not find them as exciting. Providing a list of topics and allowing the students to choose from that list will keep you, as a teacher, in control but still allow the students to have a say in the lessons. Great idea :)
